As many of you have heard on the news - it will not stop raining in Texas! I am thankful for a few reasons: 1. The temperatures are hovering around 80 instead of the usual 100 this time of year. 2. Our new sod looks fabulous - without a high water bill!
Last night we had yet another big storm come through that knocked out our electricity for a while. All the lakes around Austin are still closed and the dams are still open to regulate the water levels. Of course, all this water has caused a lot of devistation with folks being flooded out of their homes and lakeside businesses loosing a lot of revenue during a Holiday week. And so it goes....
Well, we are off to Denton, TX after Jay closes the bank this morning. It is what was formally known as the Disco Triathlon, now the Disco Duathlon. That's right, the swim is cancelled due to the flooded lake! Bummer!! Swimming has actually become one of Jay's favorite parts of the tri. So, in it's place they've added a 2 mile run. So he will run, then bike, then run again! Sounds fun, right? We are just praying the weather holds out so the whole thing is not cancelled again. More updates to follow after tomorrow. Have a great weekend!
