Yardwork

Well, we finally found some motivation to set aside time and money to planting the bed in front of our house.  We had the landscapers pull the ugly evergreen shrubs out of this bed last June when they were installing the sprinkler system and sod.  I cannot believe it has been empty for a year next month.  Sad!  Anyway, after getting several estimates and visiting a lot of nurseries, we finally decided just to go to Home Depot an do it our self for a little more sweat and muscle and much much less money.  The best part, we went Friday after work before all the weekend warriors and when it was cooler.  Jay got all the plants in Friday night before dark and then we did all the mulching Saturday.  We also mulched this whole huge area in our backyard, but I don't have any pictures of that yet.  This back project also required moving 150 bricks that had been in the same spot since our house was built 10 years ago!  I did this in between Maddie's naps and Jay hauled 28 bags of mulch.  So hear are some shots of the work in progress and our helper!
