Ike....come & gone

Galveston, Houston & other costal towns got hit head on in the wee hours of the morning by Cat 2 Hurricane Ike.  Austin, however, missed the entire thing.  I mean, not even a rain drop!!  The wind was fairly consistent all day, but that's it!!  

Jay did wake up around 2 am to check on the storm & noticed our front door standing wide open!!!  I guess when we were outside last night, we forgot to lock it.  When the wind picked up in the middle of the night, it blew open.  Very freaky!!!  Jay quickly got me up and we scoured the whole house to make sure nothing was out of place or unexpected visitors were not camping out.  Smokie did spend the night outside - guess she couldn't resist the temptation once the door was open.  As soon as we got up this morning, she was on the front step and basically stayed in her bed all day.  Up all night...sleep all day.

On a serious note, there is some real devastation in South Texas, as I'm sure you're all aware.  Please keep all those that were affected in your prayers.
